28th Annual Monacan Indian Nation (MIN) Powwow, May 16-17th, 2020

Due to the recent health pandemic with COVID-19, and current bans on public gatherings we
regret to inform you that we will have to postpone our 28th Annual Powwow scheduled for May
16 & 17, 2020. The MIN Powwow Committee is working on rescheduling the event for later in
the year, during Fall 2020.
At this time, we do not have an official date but we will post updates and notifications through
our social media platforms: and the official Monacan Indian Nation
Facebook page. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but our concern at this time
is for the health and safety of all community members, dancers, vendors, and staff.


Honoring the traditions of the Monacan Indian Nation, this annual event is held the third weekend in May.

The goal of the event is to educate families about the tribe’s culture and history in Central Virginia.

This year the Powwow will be held from Saturday, May 18th from 10 am to 9 pm, and Sunday, May 19th from 10 am to 6 pm.

This event includes special performances by Native American Singers and dancers from across North America. Featuring Native American crafts and food.

Admission: Adults – $10

Seniors & age 5 to 12 -$5

Children under 5 enter for free

The location of the Powwow is on Rt. 130, 6 miles West of Rt. 29 in Elon, VA
